Get ready for a blues experience like no other. Rev Doc & The Flying Squad deliver hard-hitting, soul-shaking, gritty blues that grabs you from the first note and doesn't let go. At the centre is Rev Doc, one of the most electrifying blues harmonica players around. His unassuming presence can be deceptive—but once he hits the stage, he unleashes searing harp lines and a commanding voice that drives straight to the heart of the blues.
This year marks Rev Doc's 27th anniversary at Blues on the Bay, and he continues to bring fresh energy, fire, and raw, uncompromising blues to every performance—whether in intimate settings or full-throttle festival stages.
Alongside this, The Swamp Tones deliver a stripped-back, foot-stomping revival of early American roots music, channelling the spirit of the 1930s–60s with grit and authenticity. Fronted by Rev Doc on harmonica and vocals, the trio also features Mateusz Chmielewski (guitar) and Laura McGrath (double bass). Drawing inspiration from legends such as Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Big Bill Broonzy, and Big Joe Turner, their sound is raw, soulful, and steeped in old blues, gospel, and folk traditions—straight from the swamp.
